I hereby gladly annouce that, i’m going to Singapore tonight!
What for?
To be an official photographer for a team named Kiyah-Splashh in the Singapore International Dragon Boat Festival!
Somehow i would like to thank up front to Kiyah-Splashh team member Ivan who acknowledges my photoshooting ability and welcomed me to be their photographer i’m totally hyped!
What am i bringing over for this event?
Canon 1000D with Kit Lens PLUS Battery Grip
Canon 55 - 250mm F4-5.6 IS
50mm 1.8Canon 420ex Flash Gun
and last but not least,
BEHOLD….
Canon 100 - 400 L USM IS F4.5-5.6 !!!!!!
Somehow i feel this is gonna be HELL OF A SHOOTING TRIP!!!!
First was Premier screening and 2nd was in IMAX Times Square.
WHY?
Well basically i am a person that will watch a big movie like this more then once. Simply because first time, i will watch with a hyper excited stage and mood. And due to that i believe i will miss quite some details in the show. Thus watching 2nd time will allow me to observe the whole show in a more calm down mood.
What i’ve spotted in this movie?
Well i believe i’ve mentioned a few at my previous post few days ago. I just wish to make a more detailed review about this show as i believe not just me but almost the whole world has been anticipating this show ever since 2007…
First of all, YES i definately enjoyed the movie it’s Transformers for god sake!!
However i realised some plot holes through out the movie.
- Reused robot Remember in the trailer that shows a huge contruction vehicle(tractor) transofromed at the middle of the Shanghai factory place during a NEST night mission and some helicopters was destroyed? That Decepticon named Demolisher was killed on that scene with a huge shot on his head by Optimus.. however in case you do not know, he is part of the 6 in one mega robot named Devastator which appears in the end of the movie… wtf?
Remember Blackout the helicopter? He was killed by Lennox in the first episode where he shot him right from the bottom after Lennox rushed below Blackout by a bike… The similiar helicopter appears AGAIN in this episode! Without any single introduction, we are suppose to know that is actually Grindor.. another Decepticon *sweat*..
Remember Bonecrusher which his head was cut off by Optimus prime in the first episode when they have a giant tweak fight by the highways? I swear I saw him appearing AGAIN at the final battle scene at the dessert!!
and looking at the amount of contruction bots that are at the final scene, it’s rather confusing on who is who because you’ve seen 6 contruction vehicles combined and became Devastator but at the same time the same construction bots are chasing and fighting with Sam, Mikaela and Bumblebee.
My only possible guess for this is :
- its Puking expensive to remold and redesign a new robot so the story has to be 100000 robots arrived at the battle and they transformed to whatever things that they can see around them : the 6 types of construction vehicle!!
(but that still does not explain why bonecrusher appeared there….. )
- Reused Scene(or too similiar?)
If i were to meet Michael Bay, i mean IF, i will definately ask him one question :
“Why are you so cheap?”
If you are to be observative enough, you will be able to identify a few repeated scene in Transformers 2.
Remember the scene where the commets are shooting down from the space into earth?
Remember the scene where the observation drone flew and arrive at the battle ground at Qatar dessert in episode 1?
- too many bots (somehow) spoil the show..
Yes, too many robot somehow spoil the show.. this is due to the robots are not that properly introduced this round..
I believe this might be the way for them to cover up the reused model of designing the robots. However you cant hide from our eyes especially ppl like us that loves transformers the movie so much! Characters that’s been lost focused like Jolt that charges Optimus Prime at the final scene to combine Jetfire with Optimus, and like mentioned above, how the hell can a huge Blackout look-alike decepticon Grindor can be missed out from any proper introduction?
By this time we definately miss few scenes from Transformers 1 especially this one below :
So Michael Bay, if you manage to step into here do you get what i mean?
Anyhow, overall the movie still rocks. Somehow the plot still manage to bring some surprises even though there’s been quite some trailers and footage revealing what’s gonna happen in the movie. It also manage to entertain EVERYONE that steped into the cinema.
I’ve watched twice, and both show ended with CHEERS and APPLAUSES from the audiences!
So this is definately NOT a movie to be missed as i believe it’ll hit some record this round due to Transformers, Michael Bay, and of course, Makaela
Okay Transformers 2 is coming our next week! I believe for whoever that know what the hell is Transformers The Movie about, is equally as excited as me now
Here are some VERY interesting facts and triva I’ve found about this 2nd episode of the movie..
Cool Facts :
14 robots last time, 46 robots this time (ILM only)
If you had all the gold ever mined in the history of man, you could build a little more than half of Devastator.
Optimus Prime will be life size on IMAX screens in many forest fight shots.
Devastator’s hand is traveling 390 miles per hour when he punches the pyramid.
The pyramid destruction simulation was 8 times bigger than the old rigid simulation all-time record holder at ILM.
All robot parts laid out end to end would stretch from one side of California to the other, about 180 miles
Devastator’s parts stacked tip to tip would be as tall as 58 empire state buildings.
If all the texture maps on the show were printed on 1 square yard sheets, they would cover 13 football fields.
Disk Space
Trans1 took 20 Terabytes of disk space. Trans2 took 145 Terabytes. Seven times bigger!
145 terabytes would fill 35,000 DVDs. Stacked one on top of the other without storage cases, they would be 145 feet tall.
Rendering Time
If you rendered the entire movie on a modern home PC, you would have had to start the renders 16,000 years ago (when cave paintings like the Hall of Bulls were being made) to finish for this year’s premier!
A single imax shot in the movie (df250) would have taken almost 3 years to render on a top of the line home PC running nonstop.
IMAX frame render times: As high as 72 hours per frame!
IMAX
Optimus Prime will be life size on IMAX screens in many forest fight shots.
Imax frames take about 6 times longer than anamorphic to render.
IMAX frame render times: As high as 72 hours per frame!
Devastator!!
Devastator is as tall as a 10 story building.
Devastator has more than 10 times the number of individual parts found in an average car.
Laid out end to end, Devastator’s parts would be almost 14 miles long.
So this episode is SEVEN times BIGGER then first episode and if we were to render this movie by ourself at home with our dual core or whatever pc it takes 16,000 years…….. interesting, huh?
Now we know exactly what we are expecting on the BIG screen!!!
Went to Putrajaya for the very first International Dragon Boat Festival with Mark and YY+her husband.
The event is surprisingly swamped with visiting crowd and spectators. It’s a very happening and colourful event and somehow I felt really proud for such event being held in Malaysia.
Managed to shoot some kewl pictures(I think :p) and it’s all thanks to the new CPL filter that’s brought to me by Siok Mei all the way from Australia!
Here are some interesting pictures i’ve taken that day…
Left side view from the observation tower
The right side view from observation tower
The observation tower
and by now you sure wonder how the hell i get to go up to the top of the tower, rite?

TADAAAA…
Bangganye....
here are some pics from the race :

And somehow i found the beauty in the lake of putrajaya water sports complex…

Enjoy the rest of the pictures!

Marathon movie weekend with Raymond, Josh, Maria, Rachel for 2 movies…
Monsters VS Aliens
SI BEH funny….. laughed my intestines out for this show…. cute characters and it’s sort of sacarstic version of Fantastic 4 lol…. (some how)
Recommended show : 4.5 / 5
(0.5 gone because of “it’s another super hero show” thing..)
Terminator : Salvation
Interesting… ppl tend to think “Aiya 4th episode already sure no longer that nice anymore…”
frankly speaking, i will advise u to do your “homework” before watching this show!
I was like “HUH? wat da %^&!@” at the begining of the show… have some patience… you will get (most of) your questions answered when the show goes on. BUT STILL, i will advise to revise on the earlier episodes of Terminator Series. At least Episode 1 and 2!
Lots of scaring/frightening and very suspense scene all over the movie and you might wanna ignore your curiosity for a moment and enjoy the thrill of the entire show.
Recommended show : 4 / 5
Where the 1 went to?
I do not like the way they use “I’ll be back” in this episode…
and..
it’s a bit of confusing at the starting point of the movie..
Monday night, went to watch this…
Night in the Museum 2
This was a blast of laugher and fun. The LARGEST museum in the world came alife!!
Overall i give 4/5.
1 point went down due to a question lingered in my mind… where did his “girl friend” from previous episode?
However thumbs up for the funny-ness!
and for Today, I’ve got premier passes to watch the premier screening for this…
Hannah Montana the Movie
I know ppl will start saying that :”Hey this is such a teenage / casual show.. no point watching it~”
but ironically, i enjoyed the every bit if the movie! lots of funny scenes and touching scenes. Never to miss quite a few of nice songs in the show as well!
Overall the show met the purpose and it’s entertaining enough. Must also mention that i am actually not a fan of Hannah Montana especially the drama series. This show shows the mature side of Miley and i have to say BRAVO to her effort!
Obviously this is also a Recommended show from me… ratings?
of course 5/5 lar! FREE TICKET WAT!! :P
p/s :
I wish to go watch Transformers 2, Revenge of the Fallen in a HUGE group… whoever interested please let me know and we shall arrange something for the screening of Transformers 2 on 24th June!!!
